After my tour in Korea, I went back home to the Philippines for 2 weeks then headed over to Los Angeles to do Recruiter’s Assistance Duty (RAP). RAP is a US Air Force program that allows us to go back to our home of residence for 2 weeks without getting charged for leave. The only catch is that you have to work with recruiter during that time. Since I’m always short on leave days, this was a perfect chance to go visit family in LA as well as do some more traveling around the area before I leave for Italy.
On our first weekend there, the family decided to go to Vegas. We stayed at the Flamingo Hotel. There I met up with my old boss and friend KT. Since we’ve been to Vegas a million times, didn’t really take a lot of pics.

The following weekend, we decided to go to take the kids to Legoland in San Diego. We stayed at the Hilton Resort Carlsbad and with my HHonors Gold benefits, got upgraded to Ocean View Rooms and had free breakfast for 8 people for 2 nights!

Soon enough, it was time to head out and go to Italy. The military gave me a limit on how much I can spend for the airfare and since I used a bulk of it on the MNL-LAX leg, I had to settle on flying Aeroflot Airlines. The good thing is that they are a SkyTeam partner so I get double the points, lounge access, priority boarding, etc. as well as getting a glimpse of Moscow since that’s where our layover is.

Overall, it was an amazing 2 weeks back home in Los Angeles. Can’t wait to be back!
