So the much awaited journey to the homeland is underway and now it’s time to try out Asiana First Class! My routing would be Frankfurt-Incheon-Manila.
After the hotel shuttle dropped me off, I checked if I can already check-in my baggage early but as expected, the counter was still closed. I then went to the military USO office to kill some time. Soon enough, they opened the check-in counter and I was first in line. One of the guys who was setting the area up told me to go to the other line for Business Class. I just rolled my eyes and told him that I am in fact in the right line. That I was in First Class and not Business. The look on his face.. Priceless. #firstworldproblems
After check-in, I went to the Lufthansa Senator First Class lounge. I must say that the lounge is impressive. I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

Soon enough, it was time to board!
Here’s my throne/bed for the next 10+ hours..

Pajamas and amenity kit:

And my favorite part of the flight, dinner!

The food was good but nothing amazing. My favorite part had to be the caviar portion of the meal.
Soon after dinner, I asked the FA to make my bed as I slipped into my PJs.

I got about five hours of sleep and woke up hungry so I asked for some Ramen.

Spent the rest of the flight watching documentaries and travel shows.
About three hours before landing, they served breakfast:
After breakfast, I changed out of my PJ’s and we started the decent to Incheon Airport. The purser and flight attendants thanked all the First Class passengers and presented us with parting gifts. (extra pair of PJs for Rac!)

Overall, the service throughout the flight was good. There were only four first class passengers so the FAs were really attentive to our needs. The hard product (seat & cabin) is a little dated compared to the newer planes like the A380 or the 787 Dreamliner but it still provided all the comfort one would need in a First Class flight.
As soon as we landed, I went straight to the Asiana First Class lounge and I was definitely impressed. There was no one there and I had the whole place to myself. This is definitely one of the best lounges I have had the pleasure of visiting. There was even a bottle of Blue Label in the bar!

As I had more than six hours to kill in Incheon, I decided to explore the lounge and the airport. Went ahead and bought some drinks for the wedding too!

Soon enough it was time for my flight to Manila. Spent most of the time sleeping so here are some pictures of the cabin.

Overall, it was a solid First Class experience with Asiana. Although airlines like Singapore, Cathay Pacific and Thai are more popular for their First Class seats, Asiana is also up there and I would not hesitate to fly their premium cabins again!
