After a quick 60 hours in Manila, it was time to head back to Venice. But first, I had several stopovers. Next stop, Dubai! My routing would take me Manila to Bangkok and then to Dubai via Thai Airways, my favorite airline. The flight to Bangkok was uneventful as I slept most of the way, upon landing, a Thai Airways representative was waiting for me as I had a tight connection for my next flight to Dubai.

It was about a 5-hour flight to Dubai.Again, I slept most of the way.

Upon landing, I headed straight to immigrations. The line was pretty long and I waited for about 30 minutes for my turn. I then deposited my checked-in bags for about $10 so I don’t have to lug them around the city. Took a short 15-minute taxi ride to Capitol Hotel where some of my family members were waiting.

After dinner and drinks, they then took me to an abbreviated Dubai tour where we visited the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Burj Al Arab and The Beach (a shopping district in JBR) before dropping me back at the airport.
Definitely enjoyed my short stay in Dubai. It was nice to catch up with family and see the sights of this amazing city.

Beautiful pictures. Love the one in front of the Burj! Such a photogenic building! BTW, what makes you love Thai Airways so much? http://backpackerlee.wordpress.com/2014/02/28/burj-khalifa-high-in-dubai/
Yup, the Burj is really a sight to behold! Regarding Thai Airways, I just love how consistent they are especially their ground services in Bangkok. They really take care of their passengers especially the ones flying in premium cabins.
I have only experienced Thai in economy class, and only in their regional aircrafts to places such as Kuala Lumpur and Manila and Taipei and Seoul. I have a fondness of Singapore Airlines 😉
Ah yes, Singapore Airlines is one of our favorites too!
