Another weekend, another road trip! This time, we we’re driving all the way to Prague Czech Republic! The drive from Aviano was approximately 9 hours. We left our house Friday night and started our journey. Less than an hour in, disaster struck as we realized we have a flat tire!
In need of a flat tire in the middle of Italy on a Friday night before a long drive is definitely not a place you want to be. We we’re ready to waive the white flag but we dragged on some more and saw a gas station. We changed our tire with a spare but we still needed new tires. Fortunately, one of the biggest tire stores was only 1 kilometer away! And they were still open! I was ready to pay an exorbitant amount of money but the owner charged us a very reasonable rate. Grateful to have the trip be given second life, we resumed our drive to Prague.
Stopped to get a dinner on the way there and at about 4am we arrived at our hotel, the Hilton Prague. It was still too early to check-in so we checked out the hotel grounds. Turns out, they had a casino attached to the hotel! Played some black jack and won a little bit. Soon enough it was about 6am and the hotel agreed to check us in early for a small fee. As a Hilton Honors Gold member, they upgraded us to the Executive Floor with access to the Executive lounge and free breakfast. This was definitely a plus since breakfast would gave cost us 30 euro per person. Here’s some pictures of the hotel.
We slept until about 11am and then got ready to explore the city for the rest of the day. We then booked a city tour through the hotel concierge for about 43 euro a person. Soon enough, the tour guide picked us up from our hotel.
Throughout the day, we explored the various sights and attractions of this beautiful city. We started our day with a tour of the Prague Castle.
Afterwards, we stopped by the oldest tavern in Prague for a medieval feast!
Next we proceeded to take an hour ferry ride to see more of the sights and learn about the history of the canals.
Next up was the world-famous Charles Bridge.
We ended our 7 hour tour at the Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock.
The concierge also informed us that we were lucky we visited Prague that weekend as they had a very special event for visitors. All the museums were free from 7pm to 1am! They also had free transportation for each museum! We took advantage of this and visited the National Museum and Architectural Gallery of Prague.
Afterwards, we walked around the city some more and caught a glimpse of the different buildings of the city. We ended up seeing the Dancing House before catching a cab back to the hotel.

Overall a short but definitely sweet stay in Prague! It’s a top 5 European city in my book and offers a lot to for anyone looking for anything. Will definitely be back!
