Introduction: Zurich, Morocco, Gibraltar, Seville & Portugal Adventure!

Fourth of July weekend is coming up and that meant that we had a 4-day weekend for traveling! We looked at several options as we wanted to hit up as many places as we could. We are getting closer and closer to our goal of visiting 100 countries! After much debate and research, we finally ended up with this crazy itinerary..

We start our adventure with a quick flight to Zurich, Switzerland. We’ve only been to Zurich Airport and have never actually been to the city so this quick stopover would give us a taste of what the city has to offer.

The next day, we have a very early flight to Malaga, Spain. There we will pick up our rental car and drive two hours west to Tarifa, a coastal town is the south of Spain. From there, we will take a quick 40-minute ferry to Tangier, Morocco! We are planning on spending most of our day exploring the sights and sounds of this small Moroccan city. We will most likely be taking the last ferry back to Tarifa and spend the night in the small town. Our friends Ton and Jormae will also be meeting us in Tarifa as they are in the middle of their own European tour.

For our third day, we will head 45 minutes east to Gibraltar, a small British Overseas Territory also located in the south of Spain. After a quick tour we then drive two hours north to Seville where we will spend the rest of our day exploring the famous city. We booked a room in Seville Garden Inn, part of the Hilton brand to maximize our elite benefits.

For our fourth day, we start our day early and drive two hours west to Faro, Portugal. After checking out the what the city center of Faro has to offer, he head to our hotel, the Conrad Algarve. This last portion of the trip wasn’t originally part of the plan but we have heard great things about the Conrad Algarve and we couldn’t pass up not staying at this property. Although considerably more expensive than other options in Faro and Algarve, we ultimately decided to splurge a little and book a one-night stay at this hotel.

For our last day, we would have to drive all the way back to Malaga Airport from Faro which should take around four hours. Our flight is not until 5 pm so we have plenty of time to make our flight. On the way back, we have a quick stopover in Frankfurt before our last flight to Venice.

Overall, very pleased with our final itinerary. We are super excited to start this whirlwind adventure as well as check some countries off our list. Stay tuned for more!
