Bleu Blanc Tour – The Gilas Experience.

The main reason we headed to the French Riviera was because of the Bleu Blanc Tour, a basketball invitational tournament where the Philippine Gilas Team would be competing with basketball powerhouses like France, Australia and Ukraine. It was a rare chance to see the Gilas players go head to head against the basketball giants of the other countries. The invitational was also in preparation of the upcoming FIBA world championships to be held in Spain. The event was held in Azur Arena in Antibes, France. As expected, the event wasn’t sold out so we ended up being able to “upgrade” our seats and got as close as to the first few rows behind the scorer’s tables. Notable NBA players that we saw were Andre Blatch, Dante Exum, Boris Diaw, Luc Longley and much more! We ended up watching two games Gilas games, the first one against France and the second one against Ukraine. The first game was definitely a great experience as the Gilas team almost pulled an improbable upset against the former European champion. Here’s the pictures of our Gilas experience!
