Our 11-hour layover in Istanbul meant that we had enough time to go and see the sights of this ancient city. We planned on hiring a guide and car to take us around but upon arrival, we were told that Turkish Airlines provides free tours of the cityin between flights if you were flying with them. Score! They offered free transportation, breakfast and lunch as well as free entrances to the various museums and monuments. All in all, it was another amazing experience for free courtesy of travel hacking!
We visited the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar as well as other attractions in Istanbul.
All in all, an amazing free tour of this ancient city. Thanks Turkish Airlines! To top it off, on our last flight back to Italy, we got upgraded to Business Class. Perfect way to end this amazing trip!
