Another long weekend, another adventure. This one is extra special as we’re going somewhere new! It kinda gets boring when we’ve visited most of the big cities in Europe multiple times (like Rome 4 times!).
This time, my cousin Bhey and her husband Mike will be going with us to Copenhagen, Denmark!
I found some pretty reasonable fares through Swiss Air and booked our accommodations at the award-winning Hilton Copenhagen Airport Hotel. Although a little pricey, the Hilton provided a perfect base to explore the city.
We luckily got upgraded to the Executive Floor which offered free snacks throughout the day as well as breakfast.
The transportation system in Copenhagen is really easy to use as we took the metro and trains to various spots. We visited the Tivoli Garden, Little Mermaid and strolled through Stroget Street. We even found time to visit the Christiania, a small community where it was widely accepted (although still illegal) to buy and sell certain herbs!
The city is small enough where you can walk and see all the sights! Some interesting facts: I also somewhere that the Danish were been voted as the happiest people on earth. They also consume the most amount of pork per year!
Anyway, a nice introduction to Denmark and it’s capital, Copenhagen.
Here are the pictures of our short stay..
