My last leg to get home was Hong Kong-Manila and it was with Cathay Pacific First Class! CX is the only airline that I know of that offers a First Class service to Manila so I was excited to try it even though it was only going to be about a 2 hour flight. Talk about going home in style!
Upon entering the cabin of this 777, I was floored by how nice the seats were! There are only 6 seats total and only one other seat was taken.
Next up was the meal service!
I must say that for a 2 hour flight, Cathay really impressed me! The seats were comfy and had a lot of space. The attendants were top notch as well! I cannot wait to try them on a longer route!
For my return flights, the first leg was originally on Cathay First again but unfortunately, they swapped aircrafts and I was downgraded to Business Class. Cathay did give monetary compensation for the equipment change and it gave me an opportunity to experience Business Class this time.
Not bad I must say. The seats were a little dated but the service was still top notch!
After the short flight, we landed in Hong Kong and since I had some time to kill, headed to The Wing, Cathay’s flagship lounge! I’ve heard good things about this lounge as being one of the best in the world and it certainly did not disappoint. First stop, Cathay’s world-famous Cabanas! I’ve heard that they can be hard to book especially with a lot of passengers but I was able to secure one pretty easily!
Was also able to have dinner at The Haven, Cathay’s restaurant for First Class passengers.
Here are pictures of the rest of the lounge!
All in all, it was great to finally experience Cathay Pacific First Class. A lot of frequent travelers say that it is truly one of the best in-flight experiences and Cathay definitely did not disappoint. The Wing lounge in HKG is also definitely a world-class lounge. Really hoping for more CX flights in the future!
