Weekend in London!

The biggest thing with award flights is to have a flexible schedule so that you can take advantage of these amazing flights. On this recent award ticket, it meant that I had to spend the weekend in London because the next available flight back to Paris was in two days!

The good thing was that I had hotel points to burn to minimize the costs. I planned on staying at the Waldorf Hilton for one night then the Hilton Gatwick for my second night but my good friend oberoi offered to trade hotel points and booked me 2 nights at the Radisson Blue Edwardian Mercer Street. Since the hotel retails for about 300 GBP a night, I took him up on the offer!

Upon landing in Heathrow, I took the London Underground for 6 euro straight to Covent Garden and walked to my hotel.

The location was perfect as it was right in the middle of Covent Garden and close to A LOT of shows and plays in the West End!

For my first night, I might up with our high school friend to watch Miss Saigon!

The next day, I still had the West End bug and while I walked the street of Covent Garden, bought a valentines gift for Rac and found cheap tickets for the play War Horse!

After the show, I met up with my cousins in Paddington for Valentine’s Dinner in their place. It was nice to catch up with my cousins as I hadn’t seen them for ages!

The dinner was the fitting end to this incredible trip. Early next morning, I took an Uber to Victoria station and took the Gatwick Express to the airport.

And just like that, this amazing trip has come to an end and London served as a nice encore. This trip was truly a trip of many firsts! Tried out some incredible airlines and their First Class, Business Class and flagship lounge offerings! All this thanks to miles and points!
