We are really fortunate to be living in Europe as we get to travel and explore the rich culture of this continent. What makes travel more exciting for us is when we get to share it with people we love. This post will chronicle my parents latest visit to Italy and our adventures during their two week stay!
With the help of miles and points, we were able to book my parents airfare and hotel accommodations. They had an overnight in Istanbul, Turkey both ways and I used Hilton points to book them at the Hilton Garden Inn near the Istanbul Airport.
We picked up my parents at the Venice Airport and in order to save time, we drove straight to Florence, Italy! We stayed at the Hilton Metropole which upgraded our rooms as we are Hilton Diamonds. It was awesome to see my parents so happy with the VIP treatment they were getting everywhere we stayed. None of this would have been possible if not for the tips and tricks that I have learned with travel hacking.
We explored Florence that night and the next morning, drove to Rome, Italy where we stayed at the Rome Cavalieri, Waldorf Astoria. The property is amazing and it deserves separate review HERE.
Again, we visited the many sights of Rome!
The next day, we went to the Vatican and was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the Pope.
My mom was brought to tears as she never thought she would visit the Vatican let alone see the Pope!
