Finally, Hawaii! We we’re looking forward to some fun in the sun and what better place than Hawaii! Upon landing, we headed over to Hertz where we were upgraded to an SUV from a regular Sedan. Score!
It was then a 30-minute ride to our hotel, the Hale Koa. More on this amazing property in a separate post. First order of business, food! A few days before we got there, we were told that Oahu had Jolibee on island. We googled the nearest one and soon enough, we we’re munching on some good ole Jolibee! After our little feast, we walked around and explored Ala Moana Center, one of Oahu’s biggest shopping malls.
The next day, we did some shopping at a nearby Ross then stopped by Hickam AFB where we visited the clinic to get Isa some vaccine shots. We checked out the base after that then drove to Waikele Premium Outlets. Although we didn’t do any shopping there, we ended up trying out the many food trucks that were nearby!
We continued our drive and headed north towards North Shore to visit Sunset Beach as well as try the famous Giovanni’s Garlic Shrimp!
On our way back to Honolulu, we stopped by several beaches and parks to enjoy the sunset.
The next day, we visited some sneaker stores where I met some great people. We also visited China Town and had some ramen in Lucky Belly.
We then headed back to the beach, attended a Luau and picked up our Hawaiian souvenir, a Louis Vuitton bag tag.
We had such a great time in Oahu. We had so much fun driving around the island and exploring all that it had to offer. This is definitely one of the highlights of our around the world trip!
