Being a sneakerhead and shoe store owner, I’ve always wanted to attend the different sneaker events that they put together in the US. I’ve resorted to watching youtube clips since I’m stationed overseas. This is why when I heard that Sneakercon, the biggest sneaker event in the world was coming to Hong Kong, I had to make it work.
For the event, I flew in to HKG early in the morning and scheduled a flight later that night so that I can make it to the Grand Opening of our sneaker store in Manila. Fortunately, the event venue was only 5 minutes away from the airport! I would be spending roughly 12 hours in Hong Kong just to make the event!
The event lived up to its hype. Attendees were saying that although the event is a lot smaller than the US gatherings, the amount of rare shoes in the building more than made up for it.
I also got to see and meet some celebrities and influencers that I’ve been following in the shoe game. As a bonus, I got to see Ray Allen too!
Also spent some time with other store owners from Manila as they had tables showcasing their rare gems.
Overall, it was a great experience. Definitely looking forward to the next one!
